Countryside Gardens

Our Story

Countryside Gardens began on our family farm in 1989, when my dad built our very first greenhouse. I had just graduated with a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science, specializing in landscape design, and together we set out to grow something lasting.

In those early days, we started as a wholesale perennial business, filling the greenhouse with petunia baskets and hardy plants for local nurseries. When I later moved away for a design career, my mom and dad transformed the operation into a retail greenhouse, converting a barn into a charming garden shop and adding another greenhouse for vegetable seedlings and flowering plants.

Mom had a gift for finding unique, hard-to-find varieties that set us apart - and even today, those specialty plants continue to bring our longtime customers back each spring.

Growing and Evolving

While I was away designing gardens in Austin and Santa Monica, I discovered a new passion: succulents. Their sculptural forms and resilience in dry climates fascinated me, and they quickly became a favorite feature in my garden designs.

When I returned home, that passion took root here too. Together, my mom, sister, and I now propagate thousands of succulents each year - creating one-of-a-kind container gardens and offering individual plants for sale. Many of our containers are handmade or custom-sourced to highlight each plant’s natural beauty.

At Countryside Gardens, we believe that plants connect people - whether through a shared love of growing, a favorite bloom, or a visit to the greenhouse that’s been part of our community for over three decades.
